createinme:

I’ve been given this incredibly opportunity. It’s something that I’ve wanted to do (for a really, really, really long time) even before it was presented to me.And this is what it is:I can go to India.& I won’t just get to go to India, but I’ll get to help teach an orphanage about photography.& I won’t just teach them about photography, but they’ll get cameras for two weeks.& they won’t just get cameras for two weeks, but they’ll get to document their lives. When they document their lives, their photographs will be sold to audiences around the world. Once a photograph is purchased, 100% of the proceeds goes straight back to the orphanage to create economic sustainability within the community—therein helping them rise out of poverty.
This is a dream. An absolute dream. My love for photography, combined with my love for India, combined with my love for helping children… Please, understand, this really is a dream that could become real.
Anyway, apparently a plane ticket to India isn’t free. And, hey, yeah, I may not know you all that well, but I would love for your help (to raise money, that is). I need a hefty sum (about $2,500), and let’s face it, I don’t have that kind of money. So, if you’re feeling charitable—or just want to bless someone, please, please, please e-mail me katie@100cameras.org. Send me you’re address and I’ll send you a support letter (or if you don’t want a support letter and just want to send money, I’ll send you my address). Seriously. I can’t do this without you. With love in Christ, Katie.
